This pathway is designed to encourage students to consider teaching as a career. Students are exposed to the many facets of education through class discussion, observation, and participation in public school classrooms. Students will examine their aptitudes for teaching, learner needs and development, including students with exceptionalities, and the history, trends, and governance of education. Students learn about the importance of positive learning environments, curriculum development, and utilization of a variety of instructional strategies. Students are encouraged to complete both Teaching as a Profession II and Teaching as a Profession Field Experience in the same year. Students are eligible for articulated university credit upon successful completion of the Teaching as a Profession pathway.
