As we welcome in CTE month, we want to share this exciting highlight from Providence HS. Our students are hard at work every day to prepare for their ‘what’s next’. We appreciate the efforts of CDC, Lisa Hall, for sharing the good news!
‘PHS senior Gianlucca Simon was a bit unsure of his future career path as he entered into his senior year of high school. He was trying to decide between a couple of different pathways, one of which would require a future business degree. That’s why he decided to take a chance and pursue a CTE Marketing internship as one of his fall PHS courses. Gianlucca heard about the SCALE internship with Scott Clark Toyota on the morning announcements, and applied and interviewed for the program.
The SCALE internship program is designed to bring a motivated group of students with diverse backgrounds and perspectives together to grow their skills and benefit non-profit organizations in our community. Program interns will explore the world of digital, social media, and traditional marketing. Students also have the opportunity to learn from the Scott Clark Toyota team of professionals, as well as community leaders. Throughout the program interns access a robust network of relationships both within the Scott Clark dealership, and also outside in our local community.
Gianlucca has thrived in the SCALE program during first semester, so much so that his advisor at Scott Clark Toyota, Chris Carnes, offered him a paid position as a SCALE group leader for the Spring 2025 semester. This is a newly created role in which Gianlucca will serve as a peer leader and mentor to new interns. When asked why Gianlucca was selected for this position, Mr. Carnes said, “Gianlucca has accomplished amazing work in the SCALE Program. He is extremely talented and a pleasure to work with. I can’t wait to see the impact that he makes on our next group of SCALE interns.”
Congratulations to Gianlucca on his success in the CTE internship program. If you are a student who has questions about how you too might be able to participate in an internship experience, please contact the Career Development Coordinator at your school!’
