Did you know that CTE has a presence at some of the Early Colleges? If you have ever met Amanda Marlowe, you would definitely know. Ms. Marlowe is an Engineering and Computer Science teacher at CEEC and CTEC. Not only does she make an impact on both campuses, Ms. Marlowe has created an group called InnovatHERS for girls interested in STEM fields. Nominated by Dr. Susan Nichols, she shared this about the program and Ms. Marlowe:
‘This group is open to both CEEC and CTEC and gives students the opportunity to learn from members of the community in a variety of career paths. The goal is to network and connect students with successful women in STEAM careers. Depending on the lottery, the representation of females in the program and fluctuate. This group helps to bring those students together (Though males are welcome too), to network and form supports.’
This is the type of program that will leave a lasting, positive impact with the students. We salute Ms. Marlowe for taking the charge and leading this work!
