In this pathway, you learn about plants, the earth and how to protect and cultivate the environment. Environmental and natural resource courses provide leadership and presentation skills. The hands on experience in this pathway gives you experience in the greenhouse, outside, and in the classroom.

CPCC ARTICULATED CREDIT

Articulated credit is earned as a result of a student passing the designated CMS CTE course(s) with a final letter grade of a B or higher AND a score of 93 or higher on the NC administered end of course exam. In some cases students must show proficiency in multiple courses plus a certification in order to receive articulated credit. In some cases, there are options. Be sure to pay attention to the AND and OR statements. College articulated courses DO NOT show on a high school or college transcript. These courses, if the criteria is met, will be waived from the applicable program of study through Central Piedmont Community College.

The OSHA 10-Hour General Industry certification helps to ensure that workers are more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights.

College and Career Promise

Through local partnerships and classroom curriculum, we are motivating youth to consider careers in manufacturing and preparing them with the skillsets and knowledge to succeed in the workforce industry after high school, and college. The CTE department connects local and regional manufacturers with local high schools to establish or build manufacturing education programs that will grow the workforce in the local communities. Students who experience the Advanced Manufacturing Pathway enter college or move into post-secondary careers with essential advanced manufacturing knowledge and expertise. partner corporations provide grants, scholarships, and apprenticeships for students who continue their education in theAdvanced Manufacturing industry.
