Not only does Katherine Hartter teach students PLTW courses in Engineering, she does it with joy and exuberance every day. Nominated by John Kurzawa, he says: ‘Katherine creates a welcoming and exciting environment in her classroom in which students can thrive each and every day. From the moment when students enter and answer her question of the day until the moment they leave, they are in the care of a teacher who truly is passionate about the learning, growing, and yes…even a little bit of fun happening throughout her lessons. Many of Ms. Hartter’s former students look back upon the time in her class with fond memories, not of only CTE, but of a teacher who truly cares about them. Katherine is a dedicated employee of CMS who works tirelessly with her PLC to ensure the success of every student in her classroom. The hands-on work not only keeps students interested and excited, but also sets them up for success in future STEM/CTE courses and beyond.’
Katherine Hartter makes a difference with her students and is an absolute asset to Myers Park. We salute you! You are CTE!
